Breast Cancer Patient Equity

Breast Cancer Patient Equity provides for Medicare coverage of custom fabricated breast prostheses following the surgical removal of the breast (i.e., a mastectomy), including replacements of such prostheses. Currently, Medicare covers surgically implanted breast prostheses, as well as some external breast prostheses (e.g., post-surgical bras).

Protecting Access to Lifesaving Screenings (PALS) Act of 2019

The PALS Act of 2019 makes a series of changes relating to health insurance coverage of screening mammography.

Specifically, the bill requires that any provision of law referring to current recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) with respect to breast cancer screening mammography be administered as if (1) the provision referred to USPSTF recommendations last issued before 2009; and (2) those recommendations applied to any screening mammography modality, including any digital modality of such a procedure. This requirement shall also apply to the Veterans Health Administration's policy on mammography screening for veterans.

Establish a Womens History Museum in the Smithsonian Institution

To establish in the Smithsonian Institution a comprehensive women's history museum, and for other purposes would establish a comprehensive women’s history museum in the Smithsonian Institution. The bill would authorize funding for a museum director who would collaborate with schools and would permit a board of regents to designate a site for the museum in Washington, D.C., among other provisions.

The WAGE Equity Act

The WAGE Equity Act closes the wage gap between women and men while prioritizing employees and businesses over trial lawyers. The act empowers employees to utilize flexible work arrangement; creates a "Self-Audit" system aimed at incentivizing businesses to amend pay disparity; protects an individual's ability to negotiate employment based upon merit; protects employer's ability to ensure negotiations by explicitly protecting the employer's ability to have a salary expectation conversation and to act on a salary history if it is voluntarily offered during the interview process; and protects employee ability to discuss compensation with their colleagues.
